Guardian of the green oak

To appreciate the value of indie cinema, you must first recognize and be able to observe the world in which you are situated. Many people will say out of pity that you won’t be honest about what works and what doesn’t. in this very particular cinematic world. In my case, I believe that everything is an opportunity, and we have nothing to do but learn from opportunities. If Guardian of the green oak It would have been a great movie, I would have definitely highlighted something that needs to be improved. There is always room for improvement.

But the problem with this very small indie film is that you can’t help but feel it could have been a lot better if the approach had been a lot simpler. A nice romantic movie whose plot feels organic up to a certain point doesn’t need to play around a lot when it comes to portraying chemistry between two characters. There are questions about the plot and how things happen in the film. There are too many of them and you won’t be able to shake that feeling Guardian of the green oak it’s unnecessarily complex and ultimately feels unnatural as a dramatic story that turns romantic.

The film tells the story of a comic book writer who is very successful. The problem is, no one knows who he is. When an opportunity arises to adapt one of the stories for the big screen, the potential star in the film decides to go to the town where the writer lives and… research? At first it seems like an awkward plot about a big fish in a small town, but then it turns into a lovely story about two souls meeting and finding true love when life calls for it.

The film goes back and forth in determining what the focus of the plot is. There’s a reason why the writer can’t reveal that she’s behind such great creations, and it’s supposed to add some weight to the plot, but instead it feels like an unnecessary element that doesn’t help the relationship and only makes Grayson Kane’s presence appealing. it will change your life a little.

Abi Van Andel he does a good job in the movie. Houston Rhine really not. They never feel connected and that’s because there’s no chemistry between them and by the third act, when everything should be resolved, the script asks for additions that bring nothing to the table.

This time I didn’t like the story. But maybe it will be the same for others. The film is very well shot, and this may appeal to some people who aren’t looking for depth in a plot that feels like a light version of something that definitely could have been a lot better.
